The Alarnos’ had an accident during home renovations, which led to their gate operator getting partly crushed. The motor was still intact, but the robot arm that moved the single swing gate was smashed.
Since it was a clean break, we could unscrew the damaged arm and cable without difficulty. With some replacement components, we rigged up a new arm and attached it to the gate at the same junction. The new system doesn’t work quite as smoothly, but the Alarnos’ preferred it over the expense of a new operator.
